I’m Christopher Buecheler and this part of CWBuecheler.com is where I put all of my personal stuff. I blog about various topics which take my fancy, from both my professional and personal life. I keep my cocktail recipes here, and my beer recipes. Other sections will pop up as I have content to add to them.
Bio
I’m thirty-three years old, born in Massachusetts and raised predominantly there and in Syracuse, New York. I graduated from high school in 1995, spent a few semesters in college before deciding I didn’t care for it, and taught myself to design web pages. From there I moved on to a series of increasingly enjoyable web design jobs, leading up to a five-year stint with GameSpy Industries in California, during which time we took the company from 12 people to 120 and sold it for more than 60 million dollars, even during the “dot com slump” of the early 00′s.
After that I held positions as a Senior Web Designer at Comcast in Philadelphia and Humor Rainbow in New York, and as the Director of Web Applications for Crispy Gamer in New York. That’s a fancy way of saying that I was heavily involved in all aspects of front-end design and development, as well as working with the engineering team to make the site work. Additionally, I provided support to the Marketing and Ad Sales departments, and worked closely with Editorial. I also sometimes wrote for the site, when I had the time.
Currently I am a Co-Founder and the Principal Front-End Developer for Dart Publishing, Ltd. We’re a two-person web design and development firm currently working on our first in-house project, BlogShouts. We’re also doing contract work for a startup in San Francisco.
I live in Providence, Rhode Island, with my wife Charlotte, and our two cats, Carbomb and Baron Salvatore H. Lynx II. In my spare time — of which I never seem to have enough — I write fiction, travel, invent cocktails, brew beer, take pictures, play guitar, follow the NBA and NFL, and visit local bars and restaurants with my wife and my friends.
